    Poem: Flames

    Close my eyes
    Shivers spread down my spine
All hair rise across my body
Gust of air enters the room
I feel alive in every inch
    Vibration from top to toe
    Dream has transmitted
    Through the universe

    Source of life
    Reuniting with spirit
    I am the moon
    You are the sun
    So hard to reach
    So hard to touch
    One mystical creature
    In two different spheres

    Oxygen fills me up
    Heart is beating louder
Won’t let me sleep at night
    I’ll lay awake in bed
    Thoughts begin to wander
    Asking for some answers
    Why the flames are burning
    In a destination
    Far away from home
    Light years from us.

    Poem: Mystery called Life

    This dreamlike atmosphere
    Hypnotic dimension
    Romanticizes, and
    Awakens you
    From this mad
    State of trance
    Joining consciousness
    Far into the abyss
    Far from this mystery
    This world we call
    Life.

    Bury all memories
    Float away
    Like a cloud
    Into the ether
    Don’t dig deep
    Into the past
    Of what could have been
    Imagine
    Create a new dimension
    Dream it
    into life.

    Peace and Love,

    Poem: Drowning in your SOUL

    Cold wind touches my face
    It’s blowing through my hair
    Speeding through the highways
    Exceeding the limits when
    You cloud my mind
    Empty thoughts flash by
    Darkness has fallen
    Moments turn into hours
    Avoiding every image of you
    Imprinted in my brain
    Drowning each reflection of you
With the sound of your songs
    The tunes deafen me shortly
    They capture each emotion
    One tear at a time
    Reaching a crossroad
    Dreams or reality
    Choose a pathway
    Where you’ll belong
    Part of my inner world
    Killing the pain
    With an alternate universe
    Where our souls,
    Become one.

    Peace and Love,
    Kimmi Sandhu

    Poem: Irrfan Khan (RIP) 1967-2020

The legendary Indian actor Irrfan Khan passed away. This poem is dedicated to him.
I will miss you forever. Your films were magical to me. A lost girl looking for her belonging in this world. Her roots. Her version of India. You made me curious. I will forever be thankful to you for how your films have impacted me. They left me with an insatiable desire to be curious about my culture. My real culture. Not any made up culture I have grown up with.
    RIP Irrfan.

    The way you came in
    Swept across the country
    The entire world of art
    Your radiance
    Insatiable creativity
    Artistic acting
    Powerful characteristic
    Only viewed by us
    Through the screen
    Left in awe.

    Piece by piece,
    I opened up,
    To a world
    Of roots long lost
    Pulled them up
    With your help
    Held them close
    Tied a knot
    For each time
    You made an impact
    Left an imprint
    In my artistic heart.

    RIP Irrfan Khan.

    Love always,
    Kimmi Sandhu

    Poem: Crown energy

    Energies flow
    From the base
    Through my crown
    Streams like the river
    Connect our strings
    From north to south
    No matter where we are
    Eternal desire awake us
    From our lucid dreaming
    Moments like this
    Last forever in our core
    Our union soul.

    Peace and love,

    Open skies | Mumbai Diaries

When I look up at the sky in the evening darkness I can still see the moon and the stars, despite the amount of air pollution contaminating the air. The breezy air flowing through my hair as I walk down the beach is captivating my senses. I don’t want to turn back. I want to just stay in this moment, where I can just be, me. Utterly grateful for the life I live and the people I have in my life who means the world to me. When you’re one moment away from losing your place on this earth you become very aware of what drives you in life and who you want to keep close. The near-death experiences can really remind you what is in front of you and important and what you need to let go of. What is no longer serving you. Who do you want to hug extra tightly? If today was my last day, would I be happy with the life I am leading? Have I told you how much you mean to me?

    To be continued…

    Peace and love,
    Kimmi Sandhu

PS. I write small pieces of writing when the inspiration strikes me throughout this trip to Mumbai, India. Follow this every day to see a new post, there is always something on my mind to let out in to the world.

    Poem: Pieces

There are pieces I have gathered,
    Tiny little memories,
Of every word you’ve ever spoken,
    Created all these melodies,
    Endless tunes and symphonies,
Since the day I met you
    They’re residing in my soul.

Where would I begin, to describe,
    The sheer impact you’ve had,
    One whisper turned louder,
From each, you made me grow.

    Imagine what is real,
    Through cosmic spaces,
    Galaxies and distance,
Where do you go from here.

    Crushing boundary and notions
    Stepping into,
    The haven of our dreams,
I can’t help but to notice,
How close you are to me.

    Poem: #Roots

    #roots

    Walking through life
    One step at a time
    Feeling lost and faithless
    How do I explain
Why I don’t feel the same
    Like I used to feel
    Coming from a place
    So far away from home
    The question still arise
    Where is my true home
    And who are my friends
    Who are my foes?
Will you be by my side when
    I discover my roots
    My true belonging
    To find my way back
